About

Dr. Brian Waters has authored and published more than 35 journal articles and has mentored hundreds of students and postdocs in scientific writing. While a faculty member at the University of Nebraska, he established a senior and graduate-level course, Scientific Writing and Communication, which he taught for 7 years. He also founded and directed the Scientific Writing Lab, a learning hub for students and postdocs, for two years. 

Dr. Waters has written funded grants to the National Science Foundation (NSF), United States Department of Agriculture-National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA-NIFA), and other funding agencies. He has also served as a peer reviewer for more than 30 scientific journals, as a grant panelist for NSF and USDA-NIFA, and as a proposal reviewer for several other agencies. Currently he enjoys the challenges of being a Scientific Consultant and Grant Writing Specialist. In his free time, Dr. Waters enjoys hiking, trail running, cycling, and spending time with friends and family.
